Not really suppose to be funny or anything, I just wanted to make to little "tribute" to Tite Kubo's first idea to Bleach.
When he first made a short one-shot comic about a shinigami (the first ideas and concepts for Rukia his first character) who had a scythe and all the other characters had guns. But he then changed the weapons to swords and the guns were forgotten... UNTIL STARK BROUGHT THEM BACK!!! HAHAHA!!!... and to a lesser sense, Soi Fon as well if you count the nuke/missile as a gun. Tite Kubo, in my opinion anyways, seems to reuse ideas for his mangas. For example, when Grimmjow is release to the kitty form =^.^= he looks the same as Akutabi Gamma for his first manga Zombie Powder and Akutabi as seems to have a "inner-demon" that takes over during battle like Ichigo and his inner hollow. Akutabi's belt also has a skull that likes very similar to the hollow mask Ichigo gets after Ulquiorra kills him. He as made other characters in Bleach look like characters from Zombie Powder: Mizuho Asano = Wolfgangina Lalla Getto Lilynette = Lord Ranewater Calder |

Yep - originally Kubo wanted to name Bleach Snipe - with guns as you mentioned and only Rukia should have a scythe like she will have in the 3rd movie.
But man - even though the gun idea is old Stark having a speaking gun reminds me WAY to much at Death the kid from Soul Eater
still Stark looks damn sexy and cowboy-ish (Roland from Deschain -> Stephen kings dark tower anyone?)

Not everyone reads Kubo Tite's other manga, that's why he takes designs of what people have given positive feed back to in Japan and uses them in Bleach, so those who don't read his other stuff can be exposed to these ideas. ^_^
Besides, I'm sure we can all call off at least a dozen manga where "something" takes over the hero during battles.
